“The guide – Public green spaces of the 1950s and 1960s – rediscovering qualities” is the result of a research and mediation project concerning the urban green of post-war modernism, which was implemented in 2015 and 2016 with the support of the German Federal Foundation for the Environment. The Bund Heimat und Umwelt, the work group ‘Kommunale Gartendenkmalpflege’ of the GALK (German conference of the Heads of park agencies) and the Department for the Preservation of Monuments of the TU Berlin have jointly promoted the preservation of green spaces. This manual has been developed to facilitate recognition of typical design features and to enable both professionals and laymen to capture valuable green assets.”
